Tremont Artwalk, December 11, 2015
Tremont ArtWalk would like to thank Michelle Davis and Tremont West Development Corporation for their support these past three years.
The following statement was drafted by the artists who have provided the hard copy and promotional materials that comprise the Tremont Artwalk promotion these past 23 years and Tremont West Development Corporation. It was provided to the media and participants and is provided here and as follows:
November and December will be the last two monthly Tremont ArtWalk cards as they have been created these past Twenty – three years.
Jean Brandt, Sandy Rotkowski and Mikel Mahoney, originators of the Tremont ArtWalk promotion in 1993, never imagined that a grassroots, do it yourself art and neighborhood event would have continued for 23 years.
We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful artists and been able to support their work.
In addition, over the years we have had the good fortune to work with both David Szekeres and these past 7 years, Steven Mastroianni, who donated their time and talents in designing the monthly cards and offering technical support for the website.
Changes within the Northeast Ohio arts community has assisted with funding for galleries and monthly arts events, in more communities, and the days of the DIY event have been significantly augmented by the new funding and resources available to communities.
We appreciate this new era for Arts in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
An agreement with the local development corporation (TWDC) will allow a Tremont ArtWalk promotion to continue with their support. Look for the more exciting development in the arts in Tremont for 2016.
